About Erythromycin 2 Gel in Questions
Where can i buy Isotrexin gel from, its meant to be per ion only, but can i buy and have imported? The per ion is Isotrexin 30g Gel. Erythromycin 2% Isotretinoin 0.05%. I was originally given it by my doctor, but it has recently run out and i need more. The doctor refuses to renew my per ion before i see him again, which could be up to a month as i work crappy hours and am therefore unable to get an appointment, especially as the surgerys always full booked. Changin doctors ect would be a long process and i want the product now before it gets worse again. Can i buy it from anywhere and then have it delivered to the UK? Or will it not get through customs? If so where can i buy it from? If not.. any other recommendations for non per ion gels etc that help to clean up mild acne?

Lynn replied: "This is a reliable pharmacy:"

Dr Frank replied: "This is a POM - pre ion only medicine. Go back and see your GP who is by the way acting quite appropriately in requesting to see you, before issuing a further pre ion."

Acne questions, help please? ? I have recently started using Erythromycin gel 2 % and Benzoyl peroxide 5% gel for acne. It seems to be helping a little bit, but I have a few questions and concerns. #1. What exactly is the best way to apply the medication? Should I apply one right after the other? Does it matter which order? How much should I rub in versus leaving to dry? #2. I've been experiencing a lot of dryness. How can I combat that without losing the effectiveness of the medication? Any other general tips? Thanks, your help is much appreciated.

Turtles replied: "are u using both at the same time? benzoyl alone makes skin hella dry. you should use one at nite and one in the morning. what did ur doctor tell you to do??"

hollyleigh'd replied: "I reccommend Mario Badescu. REALLY, I do. They cured me. They give you free samples! (:"

DBleu replied: "Wait at least 10 mins. after you wash your face before you apply the medications. To combat dryness, try exfoliating at least once a week. If you're too dry, maybe cut out one of the gels. 5% benzoyl peroxide is really strong."

Erythromycin and Benzoyl Peroxide Topical Gel is a complete scam? Ok so my doc prescribed me Erythromycin and Benzoyl Peroxide Topical Gel and told me to use it with a Neutrogena Acne Wash and I have been using it for 2 weeks n a half and absolutely no results. I have mild acne and this thing is not working at all. I wash my face with the acne face wash twice a day and i put the gel twice a day right after i wash my face with the acne wash and I see absolutely no results. What now?

Stevetheskater replied: "some people dont have any results from some treatments. one thing to remember is that treatments can take up to 6 weeks to start working. Keep going and good luck"

PJ replied: "There are different things they can try. This combination isn't a complete scam - it just didn't work for you. Sometime else will. Perhaps Accutane - but that is expensive and has some serious side effects. Maybe they can try a different anti-biotic. Make a home remedy - dissolve one aspirin in about 2 tablespoons of water - dab that on the zits. It might dry them up. Aspirin contains salicylic acid (salicylate) and that helps with acne. This is a cheap home remedy - it also doesn't work for everyone. Go back to the doctor. And don't give up. They can find something to help you. Good luck."

sydny lovs ylor lunr! replied: "i'm using the same thing. my doctor says it can take up to two months to start working. what it does is peel of the first layer of your skin, revealing newer, fresher skin underneath. that's why it is so drying."

erythromycin benzoyl peroxide topical gel need advice read de ion? i have been perscribed accutane "oral antibiotic for severe acne" when i was 14 yrs old and i have used less potent oral antibiotics for about 2 and a half years "on and off" i dont have acne anymore after a long "on and off" strugle for almost 4 years but i get pimples sometimes and i still use this gell that iv been useing for 3 years maybe 4 im not sure but is it going to stop being effective after a certian amount of time?

L L replied: "I used benzoyl peroxide for over 20 years. So I guess not."

I am 6 weeks pregnant and my acne is getting really bad since I can not use any of my acne medications now.? My derm had me stop everything but Erythromycin topical gel about 2 months before conceiving. I am getting cystic acne. Does anyone know if I can use salicylic acid or sulfur based products while pregnant. My derm told me not to use benzoyl per oxide or retinols. She okyed glycolic acid though. I tried using the DDF glycolic cleaser and toner and that really dried me out. Also, is it ok to use hair bleaching cream to lighten the facial hair. I used to use Jolen, but I am afraid to use it now. Thanks in advance for answering my long question.

pg#3 replied: "use clean and clear its pretty good my acne always get bad when i get preg"

Annette T replied: "Salicylic acid is ok, but avoid really strong formulations. Try showering in the evening rather than in the morning. It makes a big difference in my skin. Don't use hair bleaching creme."

angie_laffin927 replied: "Facial bleaching, I would say no because it's the same as bleaching your hair, and youd not supposed to. As to acne treatment my OB recommended benzoyl peroxide products....so I used nutrigena acne scrub (orange bottle and it is about 5 dollars) and then the same thing in a face lotion (costs about 8). It works GREAT for me! I only get acne during pregnancy though. Have you talked to your OB about it? Maybe your derm. is being a little over protective and not really researching. Remember, they are experts in skin, not pregnancy. Good Luck though!"

cargrl replied: "I've been using this stuff called Acne Free I got it at walmart. It is a bezoyl and I havent had any problems"

JordanB replied: "Don't use salicylic acid! I'm so glad you asked about this one before using it. It is a salicylate...these include aspirin and pepto bysmol and all of them are very bad for your baby. You might want to consider finding a clay based soap to use for your face. It will feel like you are really drying out your face, but the clay is drawing oil, dirt and general face gunk out our your pores. I use one during particularly broken out times...it works great! Good luck."

gabriela replied: "talk to your obgyn. mine was fine with benzoyl peroxide, but told me salicylic acid was not okay. i had very bad acne during my pregnancy, nothing helped. try drinking lots of water that helped me at least a little. if it doesn't get better though, don't worry. pregnant women are gorgeous acne or no acne!"

dm kiss replied: "try to use a topical solution and make sure you keep a healthy diet."

Please help me I need to know this!!? I have bad acne and the derm prescribed me Erythromycin Topical Gel USP, 2%. First i would like to know if it really works, how long it takes before seeing imrpovement, and how long it takes for the acne to completely be cleared away. Another thing that I would like to know is if this product needs to be stored in a specific way. Please give me the answers to all these questions, I will greatly appreciate them.

Marz-O replied: "You should ask the pharmacist that will give you the pre ion. She/he should tell you everything you want to know."

iloviespl0x replied: "doesn't matter if it really works or anything like that. if they prescribed it to you then use it. and i had something like that from my docter and they told me to keep it in the fridge"

HachiMachi replied: "I have the same thing as you and just keep it in my bathroom drawer. As far as how well it works, I can't really say because I asked for it because it is one of few acne meds you can take while pregnant and I thought my skin would be out of control because of the hormones. Not a single zit since I found out I was pregnant, so I haven't really had a chance to see it work or not. I do however put a light layer on every night, which might be preventing the zits from forming? Good luck with it!"

im using proactiv for 2 months already and im still breaking out..what should i do?im down!!help pls...really! im using it with erythromycin gel 4%..can someone help me..im so down right now...btw,my skin peels right now and i guess i have a hormonal imbalance..help!pls

Jennifer O replied: "modify your diet. If you haven't already, cut down (or illiminate) chocolate or caffeine foods, also coffee. Eat home-cooked meals which include vegetables, and low fat meats... No greasy or oily foods, this goes straight to your pours. See if this helps, if not, contact a dermatoligist for more ideas."

jmsweet6 replied: "dont use proactive with other products, it'll just dry your skin out more. If you got the proactive mask that your only suppose to put on once a week put it on 4-5 times a week. I know it sounds like alot but it really clears your skin up. also for your dry skin use loreals futur-e. it works great! best of luck!"

Angel replied: "If proactive is not working try something else. My cousin has acne and she use to use proactive and it wouldn't work for her ..... so i got her to try this new stuff it is called Oxy .... it sort of dries up the bumps and your able to just rub them off ... ( some bumps might take more time to dry up)... also clean your face with face cleaner or soap 3 times a day... in the morning, afternoon and night....... that should help"

Spamela replied: "I know this sounds crazy, but I had the same problem for years... Sometimes, your skin can be overtreated, and the resulting peeling can sometimes clogs pores worse than usual. Here's something to try: stop all skin meds for 2 weeks. Only wash your face once per day with mild soap such as Dove (other times just rinse with plain water). No washcloths, no scrubs, no burning lotions, no toners, no alcohol. No makeup that requires fingers or brushes that could contain bacteria. In other words, give your face a rest. Use an oil-free sunscreen every day, and a light, gentle moisturizer at night (like Aveeno). Take a multivitamin along with B-complex every day. See what happens. My skin overproduces oil the more I try to dry it out. Once your skin resets itself, use a once-daily liquid salicylic acid cleanser in the shower, followed by moisturizer. Don't touch your face (transfers bacteria) or poke at any pimples. Just leave it alone. Another treatment to consider is birth control pills. They can limit your hormone fluctuations. Remember: less is more, and moisturized skin doesn't need to overproduce oil. Good luck!"

luvhealth replied: "Regardless of how good a product is, it is not for everyone. Try something else if this is obviously not working. Have you been to a doctor? I tried accutane for months and it went away, then eventually I weined off of that as well and by then, I guess my hormones had subsides cause I stopped breaking out."

how do i use this acne treatment? my doctor subscribe me the following products but I'm not sure how to use 2 of the creams. Doxycycline 100 milligrams - they are pills and i take one daily Tretinoin Cream USP .025% - I apply that cream at night benzoyl Peroxide Gel 5 % - ? erythromycin topical gel usp 2% - ? I don't know if I'm am suppose to apply the peroxide and then wash it in a few minutes or i i live it on my face and then apply the erythromycin on top. Im also suppose to apply it twice a day And how long do you think its going to take to see some improvement on my face.

hannnnnnnnna :) replied: "well you arent suppost to wash the benzoyl peroxide off i know that for sure. i would assume you apply the other jel on top. your doctor didnt tell you? it depends on how bad your acne is if you want to apply it twice a day or not. you can try...but if your face gets too dry i would take it down to once a day. you will probobly see some immediate results, but you will have to wait a few weeks at least to see greater results. sometimes you might even break out a little more when you start using them. best of luck to you <3"

SpaGirl replied: "The products that your Dr. suggested for you are very very harsh and most likely you will see your skin get very red and irritated for several months before you see any improvement with your skin. I work with acne on a daily basis and I have seen the results of these products and I must say that I don't feel it is worth the discomfort you will go through with these products. If you find that you are getting red, blotchy and your skin hurts you may want to stop and try something more gentle than this regimen. If this happens and you want some advice on a better system email me and I can make some great suggestions for you."

zitdr_02 replied: "The tretinoin has to be used at night, as light inactivates it. Then, in the morning, u can use the erythro first, let it dry, and put the benzoyl peroxide over it. Don't do any of the three more than once a day, as you'll get too irritated. You should expect to see improvement within four to six weeks."

Guru replied: "There is this new popular cream that people have been talking about. It was even televised on TV. It prevents future and existing acne, diminishes scars, and lightens skin and blemishes. Fast results too! (It's been claimed that major results can be seen within a week and no later than two weeks) Before and After photos are available at the given ebay site. This person is providing 1-3 week trial samples (Only for ONE DOLLAR.. definitely a deal) on ebay at: Search up "Cee En's Acne Solution" or "best acne solution ever" on ebay. First 100 customers can get the item for $1 for one week trial and up to 3 weeks. Or you can purchase 1 month supply for $40 or 6 month supply for $160 It's expensive, but the product DOES work. My sister and cousin who both have major acne have tried the product and they both give it thumbs up. I have also heard many great feedbacks about this cream. I don't have a problem with acne, but it seems to have great results on my sister who has moderate to severe acne. Her acne swelling went away overnight. check the seller's feedbacks on the cream I hope this helps. =)"

Erythromycin and beonzoyl Peroxide? Today my doctor gave me Erthromycin Topical Solution USp 2% And benzoyl peroxide 5% gel. I dont know how should I use it. Am I suppose to mix them and use it?

AznM0n5t3r replied: "I don 't think mixing them together would be smart. Does the medicine come with directions? Usually Benzoyl peroxide is like a face cleanser. You wipe it on your face and spread it all around then you wash it all off and then apply the topical solution but don't wash that off. Your body will "absorb" it and it will disappear. I also have benzoyl peroxide and it usually works like that but check the box for directions if you can find it."

Sean replied: "They can be mixed together or used separately. In fact Benzamycin is a pre ion product which combines these medications for you (5%/3%). It depends on how your doctor wanted you to use them. You should contact the office and double check. The nurse should be able to tell you how the doctor normally does it. In any case using them together is fine."

Has anyone taken these meds for acne? Did they work? i just started taking doxycycline 100 mg a day, and Erythromycin Topical Solution (its gel like? and has a little applicator thingy) 2% morning and night. i have pretty mild acne. but how long will it take to help my acne (around 5-10 pimples) to go away?

The Questionator replied: "I have been taking doxy 100 mg, once a night, for about 1.5 years now, and it took about 1 month for me to see results. The only problem with doxy is that it irritates my stomach a bit... As for a topical solution, Retin-A, once a night, has done wonders for me. Combined, 1.5 years later, my acne is 98% gone (all but the blackheads, which I'd get facials for). Of course, this is just my own skin and yours could be entirely different. My skin is very oily as well... And BTW - That "doctor" (^above^) has no idea what he is talking about. That guy just wants to get points for answering. Do not take accutane, your skin does not need it. Accutane is for people with severe acne. It has terrible side effects."
