Is there anybody on medicines like epilim, endep, Tramadol, Norspan Patch, Somac and Coversyl? Hi there!, I had accident in 2005 in which by disc in the lower vertebra was crushed. I am on Tramadol since then and get withdrawl effects if I try to stop it, After my operation I was on morphine and later I had Oxycontin for 2 months. I feel uneasy if I do not change my Norspan patch, I can't sleep if I don't take endep. Coversyl I take to control my high blood pressure and Somac to reduce the acidity from these medicines (without somac I have buildup a white acidic fluid in my mouth). I had kidney stones 3-4 months after my accident(which I belief developed from medicines) had lithotripsy and also had developed fatty liver. In Jan'08 I had a full patch of Norspan 5mcg, had epilim 500mg, endep and epilim and one morning I just fell down unconcious. Everything was black for me, my words were echoing in my ear. My wife and my mum took me in the backyard for fresh air and took the norspan patch and it was then I came back. Later I had just a one tblet of and was face and all was swollen and the prescribing doctor asked me to stop it then and later apologised to me. Later I found out Heath ledger had the similar medicines when he died and now Legendary Michael Jackson had oxycontin too. If there is any doctor writing answer to this question of mine knows any medicine which can replace my current medicines or let me know about a place where they can help me detox will be great. Thanks for your time

EXPENSIVEHIGHEST replied: "I have Tramadol for pain and it makes me sick...i dont take it everyday. do you feel like u need something for pain still? call your local health dept and see if they have any rehab programs...good luck."

Just Me replied: "Use the Oxycontin generic name Oxycodone, as your Dr prescribed, if you still experience pain always consult a Dr before upping or lowering the dose, they are very addictive and strong, dont use them if you dont need to, if you can take the pain at times without relief then do it, also, stop taking the drugs when the Dr says always, if you feel that they dont work as good as they did to start with or you need more to help with the pain tell your Dr to prevent tolerance. BTW I suffer chronic pain from Rheumatoid Arhtritis, I sometimes live thru the excrutiating pain to stay clear of my opiate pain killers, im currently on Codeine Phosphate and Tramadol Hydrochloride. (2 different pain killers should never be mixed unless under Dr's strict supervision it causes death like with MJ.) BTW MJ never used Oxycontin at the end it was Diluadid, Demarol and Vicodin. A seriously stupid fatal cocktail of drugs. That his Dr's knew would kill him but put money interests before a human life. Welcome to the great world we live in money over human life."

Is it ok to take both the morphine patch and tramadol? For over 10yrs now I have ben suffering with conic back pain and the situation has become much worse. I was taking Tramadol at a level between 150mg and 250my 4 or 5 times a day. The doctors have just switched me on to the morphine patch @ 5 micrograms per hr. This is working pretty well for the general pain. like the extra muscle pain but is baily touching the the real nasty pain in my back. Would it be ok to add in a little Tramadol to the mix? I've been taken out of work as I drive a lot for a living. so its just me and the computer for a few weeks! I've never had a seizure and have also got a few cocktail around the house 30/500. Ant doctors of pain suffers car to offer an opinion?

squeakyweal replied: "Probably not. Simply because they would negate one another, competeing for the same opiate receptors in the brain. I've got chronic back pain as well (13 years) and take oxycontin, augmented by baclofen for muscle spasms and either ibuprofen or a Flector patch (voltaren) that delivers an anti-inflammatory med directly to the pain site. When that fails, a heating pad usually provides some relief. Still have some tramadol, and use it to take a break from the oxycontin for a few days at a time. Less effective, but stil provides some relief. Keep in mind that it has a half-life of 6-9 hours, so will interfere with an opiate for a considerable amount of time."

I'm addicted to tramadol.? It's not life threating but i go thru what i consider withdrawl symptoms, when i stop taking them i start sneezing my lower back always hurts, I cant sleep, or I get overly tired, and it feels like i have to take a Number 2 all the time when i don't its really quite wierd if you ask me, I'm gonna go see my doctor Wed and ask her but i hear thiers like a per ion that will stop the withdrawl symptoms if thats the case i quit smoking with the patch so i feel that if i can get at least 50% relief from the withdrawls of this drug i believe i can stop anyone else out there going thru what i am or been thru it?

duc602 replied: "its treatable with methadose, a type of methadone. no withdrawals at all."

bmac replied: "Tramadol is generic for Ultram which is a synthetic narcotic. You probably are going through withdrawal. Go to your doctor and talk to him/her about the possibility of taking Clonodine. It 's a blood pressure medication that works wonders for narcotic withdrawal."

Question about opioid pain medication? I've just started on a synthetic opioid pain medication, the dose is to be raised over the next few weeks until it is quite high, and at that stage I will be using time release medication and or patches. The drug is called Tramadol. I want to know what it is like coming off this kind of medication. I definitely want to wean off it as soon as I am able too, and want to know what to expect when that happens. Thank you.

puddles replied: "i took that before, it is not really addicting like percs or vic, it doesn't make you high either. i would not worry about withdrawal. just decrease the dose to be safe be sure to find out what meds you cannot take with tramadol, i know there are a few that would be dangerous to take with this drug"

Alissa, R.N. replied: "there is a limit to how much tramadol you can take on a daily basis - no more than 100mg per dose or 400 mg per day. Coming off the medication, some people can stop cold turkey, others have to taper down. It doesn't typically cause the dependency effects like narcotics but can in some people. What to expect - like I said it's different with different people. You may have no problem just stopping it. But, the longer you're on it, the more likely you are to have issues coming off of it."

Jade replied: "I've taken Tramadol for over a year now for Fibromyalgia and I have recently decided it's no longer helping. I have stopped taking it and have had no side effects from not taking it anymore. I have found that Motrin or Advil helps as much as Tramadol. The Tramadol always gave me sort of a headache so I'm glad not to take it anymore. Good luch."

Mac S replied: "Hey there Lidybeffw/2fs --d03826a1.html#d03826a1-sideeffects Have taken it for fibromyalgia (my current, possible forever condition)...Didn't really like it. The side effects in the link above were too true for me. Worth trying...yet if you do suffer the side effects and feel they outweigh the positive results....just quit. I had no problem going cold-turkey. Feel better actually w/out. Lord knows my body's beaten up enough. See below. Good diet and mediocre excersize may help more than meds. The narcs will certainly help w/ pain, yet can be addictive...way more difficult to wean from. Doesn't it just svck gettin' older? I know...things are not so great about here lately. I'm feeling your pain from waaaaay overseas. 2nd and 3rd opinions are in order. A daily journal of positives vs.negatives is always a good habit to follow. Obviously you're not doing as well as I'd been praying for. Do your homework Liddy....you'll be alright. Just take care of yourself and get opinions...kinda like here. Btw, the "Dr." first response I believe...he/she is just that. a Dr. They all claim to know the solutions, yet have never suffered the pain. It's all just theory to the healthy crowd."

Ravencalls replied: "Hi Lib ! just finding out about what seems to be quite a very difficult time for you.. sad to hear ..my thoughts are with you may you remain strong . I truely hope you get better... ~ huggs~ Now about this Tramadol... PLEASE only take these as a last resort. its well worth the effort to do some research in finding other more "natural" medicens...(herbs, plants..etc..) and alternatives to any of these so called " Mass produced quick fix Pharmaceuticals" take care !"

Is it alright to take Ultram (Tramadol) and Neurontin (Gabapentin) together for pain? I broke my hip and femur about a year ago and finally got off the fentanal (SP) patches, morphine, oxycontin and everything else. I feel much better that i am only taking these two and it really seems to work, the ultram seems to make me feel a little (loopy) like i did when i took the stronger opiates, but my brain and body energy are much better on these? But i do get pain about half-way through the day towards the end, i can deal with it most of the time, i am 27 years old...Any suggestions on pain management, etc. and what do you think about the combination?

stephanie k replied: "voltarin rapid per ion only not the over the counter versions i find better than all the others as it relieves the pain fast and doesnt make you feel loopy ive had all the different medications ( broke neck c1 c2 and have buldging disks in back ) and the pain can become unberable but the voltarin seems to be the best for me by far for instant relief"

Georgie replied: "I tried to find some information about drug interaction between Neurontin & Tramadol, and could not find anything. But ask you doctor or pharmacist if it is ok to take the Tramadol when needed, while taking Neurontin to be on the safe side. Also make sure you have regular blood tests, as Neurontin can reduce your Vitamin D levels. I take Neurontin morning and night, and I also take a pre ion drug (Di gesic) when needed. And have to take vitamin D regularly."

Somebody's Fat Grandma replied: "Oh, I'm sorry about your pain. It sounds awful. I've taken both together, but if it affects you funny you could try something else. Maybe naproxen?"

lilminx87 replied: "is neurontin the same as neurofen?? I take tramadol when needed and if the pain doesnt warrant tramadol i take neurofen. You can take both together i.e tramadol every 4 - 6 hrs and then neurofen every 2-3 hrs after the tramadol."

Absolute Savage replied: "There is no reaction, yes can be taken together, i take neurontin and ultram er (extended release) every day for chronic headaches."

Antoi replied: "Have you seen specialists to check for bone marrow disorders or leukemia?"

jay s replied: "Seeing a specialist who deals with such complaints may be the way to go.... You can keep going with what you think is best but it's important to also get the opinion of a professional. I'm sorry to point out the obvious, but without a thorough check by a pro, you are playing the guessing game with your health. Also, make note of your diet, your environment (home and work) and any other aspects in life that may have a direct or non-direct impact on your personal health. Trace back to your family to find any similar health complications: your problems may lie in your genetics and could be a hereditary issue. Just don't play the guessing game. Go get checked. The answer could lie in a few tests and some checkups. best of luck mate. EDIT: Finally, consider this when you have your health under control....;"

FlyfreeIzzieUCSD replied: "Im assuming by Brittle bones you mean you were born with OI- Osteogenisis Imperfecta??? There are societies that deal with this disorder and Im sure they can give you ideas about pain control there. The brfren, tramadol, paracetmol, etc are all very mild pain relievers.. they are not potent at all... you really need to see a pain specialist.. there are drugs to help OI (brittle bone disease) and there are much better treatments to help maange your pain too. A pain clinic can assist with long term pain management of your painful condition. I go to one and its multidicsiplinaty. They haave tried many treatments and now I take several pain meds, muscle relaxantas and all n all, my pain levels are MUCH more tollereable than they have ever been."

would my painkillers be stopping me from ovulating? I take... diclofenac tramadol trimipramine cyclizine risperidone would any of these tablets stop me ovulating....I also have a bupronorth patches

nurseawful replied: "None of the above tablets should have any effect on you ovulating. However if you are trying to conceive at the moment you would be better to cut down on some of the drugs especially the anti-psychotics."

dragondrums replied: "Hi, none of those tablets should affect your ovualtion. It tends to be hormonal tablets that have an effect on how you ovulate."

Ok i need some medical advice? I took 2 perc 10s 2 5s chewed a fetynal patch and i took tramadol but i dont know how much of the tramadol i took all i know is I woke up 3 hours later with my mom standing next to me while I was on the couch. She said she found me at the bottom of the steps(outside) so did I overdose? Why would I black out? Now all my joints are extremely sore and i dont know why could i have had a seziure while i was blacked out?

techman replied: "why would you not black out. All drugs add to what is the body already so you most likely finally hit the most your body would take.Naturally you can expect that this will have caused trauma to all the parts of the body. The blood carries the toxins to joints and often deposits crysals there. You better read this You should not take tramadol if you have ever been addicted to drugs or alcohol. Seizures (convulsions) have occurred in some people taking tramadol. You may be more likely to have a seizure while taking tramadol if you have a history of seizures or head injury, a metabolic disorder, or if you are taking certain medicines such as antidepressants, muscle relaxers, or medicine for nausea and vomiting. Take tramadol exactly as it was prescribed for you. Do not take it in larger doses or for longer than recommended by your doctor. Do not take more than 300 milligrams of tramadol in one day. Seek emergency medical attention if you think you have used too much of this medicine. A tramadol overdose can be fatal. Overdose symptoms of a tramadol overdose may include drowsiness, shallow breathing, slow heartbeat, extreme weakness, cold or clammy skin, feeling light-headed, fainting, or coma. Tramadol may be habit-forming and should be used only by the person it was prescribed for. Tramadol should never be given to another person, especially someone who has a history of drug abuse or addiction. Keep the medication in a secure place where others cannot get to it. Tramadol can cause side effects that may impair your thinking or reactions. Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert. Do not stop using tramadol suddenly, or you could have unpleasant withdrawal symptoms such as anxiety, sweating, nausea, diarrhea, tremors, chills, hallucinations, trouble sleeping, or breathing problems. Talk to your doctor about how to avoid withdrawal symptoms when stopping the medication. Do not crush the tramadol tablet. This medicine is for oral (by mouth) use only. Powder from a crushed tablet should not be inhaled or diluted with liquid and injected into the body. Using this medicine by inhalation or injection can cause life-threatening side effects, overdose, or death."

Janice 10 replied: "Yes, you did overdose on the meds and had a seizure, as for the sore joints it is from having seizures. You need to be very carefully and go see a neurogolist for the seizures and be put on the correct medicine and only take what a Dr. prescribes."

fisher999 replied: "Do you have good insurance? My husband has spinal stenosis and he went to a neurologist who gave him a shot like an epidural in his lower back which really helped him. The cost is relatively high though ($1500) and you can only get three."

excessive sweating after spinal surgery. why? i have Spina Bifida occulta, i had a 10.5 hour operation in july to decompress the spinal cord and detether the nerves. for those that are familiar with the condition i have lypomylemeningecole (sp.) which is a variation of the illness. it took 3months for the wound to finally heal. in the sense of the skin actually joined. i suffered with intense spinal leaks of cs fluid, infection, and wound bleeds. i take a lot of medication, cocodamol, diclafenic, tramadol, amytriptalene, oramorph and an opiate patch sometimes. since the surgery when i do any walking, even if its only a couple of feet, i sweat excessively from my face, to the point it literally poors off me. i was on the same medication prior to surgery and didn't sweat anymore then usual. i find this situation highly embarrassing, i wont go outside unless i have to as i hate people making very rude and unfair comments about things they and even i don't understand. ive seen 3 doctors who don't know what the cause is and therefore don't know how to treat this. has anyone experienced this before or does anyone have any idea as to what the issue might be. ive tried researching on the internet and have come up with nothing. if i do go out, i carry a towel with me and can guarantee that within a couple of hours its drenched. it seems the sweat is on my face and my shoulders. but not in the underarms or hands which is where most people get it. anyone got any ideas? i was treated by a neurosurgeon and orthopedic consultant aswel as a GP. Ive only had temperatures related to the recovery of surgery. I live in england so obvisouly its not a hot country. and the reson ive asked people on yahoo answers is that my doctors are at a loss as to what it is and if someone who reads this has had a similar experience then it would be helpful to know what they did to overcome this issue. ive stopped taking all the medication together and only taken the ones that i feel i need at certain times. i have been doing this for over 3months now.

kiwitrubro replied: "this question is too hard to anwer see a doctor for profensinal help ok? you need it :)"

Oh L0rdy replied: ""The very basic explanation for excessive sweating is that a segment of the sympathetic nervous system is responsible for this presentation. What is the sympathetic chain you may ask? This is an autonomous part of the nervous system on which we have no control. The autonomous nervous system has two parts to it, the sympathetic and the parasympathetic. Those systems affect blood pressure, heart rate, anxiety level and many other functions.""

Chrys replied: "have you been tested for diabetes ??? My head (ONLY) sweats a LOT (in the humidity, I live in FL) it drips all summer long...(it's due to my temp being 100 all the time (and no I'm not sick) and meds I'm on...)"

Doc replied: "There are many possible explanations for this phenomenon but honestly, is this something you should be asking lay-people on Yahoo Answers? Talk to your specialist about it."

jandy replied: "Might be related to the sympathetic nervous system, Stay hydrated . You are on alot of medications. could be an occult infection.Do you have temperatures? Have you had blood cultures or any blood work. Can you try to get off some of the meds just to see if that helps? Have you seen a dermatologist or gone to a pain clinic where anesthesiologists work? I would. I'm sorry you are suffering from this and the rude comments. Have the doctors observed this? did you see a neuro surgeon or an orthopedic spine surgeon?"
